BUSINESS ANALYST
- Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology, technical concepts and clinical workflows.
- Expert in coding methodologies and guidelines (i.e. CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Expert in ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT related products (i.e. DSM IV-TR, DRG, APG, APC and HCC).
- Knowledge of mappers and groupers used to derive a diagnosis related group (DRG).
- Expert in billing workflows, associated HIPAA transactions and paper claim forms (CMS 1500, UB 04).
- Knowledge of registration, scheduling, clinic, revenue cycle, nursing flows and ancillary systems
- Expert in analysis of clinical policies, procedures and workflows.
- Expert knowledge in Health Information Management.
- A thorough understanding of HIPAA Transactions & Code Sets.
- Expert in coding and billing requirements/guidelines and policies.
- Knowledge of national HIT initiatives and associated legislation a plus
- Expert in working with users to gather, document and track business requirements
- Serve as an interface with developers and users to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Knowledgeable in ICD10 and/or ICD 9 Code set
- Thorough understanding of application deliverables/solutions for ICD 9 to ICD10 implementation
- ICD-9 / ICD-10 compliance conversion experience
- Knowledge or expertise of application interfacing and utilization of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT related products (i.e. DSM IV-TR, DRG, APG, APC and HCC).
- Ability to communicate new processes with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
